      If I could leave zero stars I would. I was given no notice to my account being closed. I found out through credit karma that it was closed. Only now able to contact customer support for them to be told not to share anything, other than its within **** right to close an account at any time for any reason. To close hundreds of accounts with no notice & affecting peoples credit scores and livelihoods, is outrageous and *********** not bank here.

      Been banking with Bank of the west for over 25 years, now its BMO, and now they closed by account without any notice. Tried to send my wife money to pay some bills and groceries and was not allowed to send money because my account was closed. *************. I knew it was time to change when they were bought off by ***.

      I opened an account with *** 3 months ago for the promotions of $400, I called today to give me my bonus, and they told me that I don't have any promotion code, can you believe it? After my next direct deposit I'm closing my account. It is a scam, they don't deserve not even 1 star.

      *** cost me over $500 in fees and interest when they failed to pay my credit card on the date specified in the app on two consecutive months. In frustration I called to close my accounts, they offered to send me a paper check in 6-8 weeks. I told them I would initiate a transfer. They then charged me fees for being below minimum balance! they said they could not close the account because it had a negative balance. I have to transfer money in then immediately call to close. I expect they will assess more fees to this will be an endless loop. Tell anyone you can to avoid *** at all costs!!!!!

      Bank cashier gave me a hard time for breaking a $100 because I didn't have an account. **** customer service. I will never go back or recommend to anyone else.

      How is this bank rated A+ with all the bad reviews? If I can give them a negative score, I would! I’m extremely disappointed with how BMO handled my unauthorized transaction claim. In March, I reported a fraudulent charge on my account and immediately called the bank to cancel my debit card. I followed all the proper steps to report it, including providing written confirmation from the merchant stating the transaction was not authorized.
      On June 2nd, I emailed the supporting evidence to rege. processing email address and have still not received any response. Despite this, BMO sent me a letter claiming the purchase was authorized — completely ignoring the proof I submitted and my prompt report of the issue.
      It’s unacceptable for a major bank to disregard fraud claims and customer communication this way. I’ve been a loyal customer , but this experience has destroyed my trust in BMO’s fraud protection and customer service processes.
      I hope others seriously consider this before banking with BMO.

      I was a 15 year customer when they decided to close my accountno warning, no notice. I received the run around on why and what my actual balance was. Its not worth the frustration. Choose a different company.

      I went to the BMO Bank off 87th and center and they talked me into opening a business account just to lie to me. My biggest concern with opening a new business account was if there was going to be a hold placed on my checks as I deposit them. I was told by the banker that opened my account that they wont put a hold on my checks unless there over $5000.00 then they will clear the $5000.00 the next day and hold the rest. The first deposit they didn't put a hold on but the second one they put a 10 day hold on and the check was from a huge auction company and written off Bank of America. The check hold was placed on 6/26/2025 and I called Bank of America and they told me that the check had cleared throught there bank on 6/30/25 and BMO Bank wants to hold my check until 7/7/2025 which makes no sense. This bank did nothing but lie to me to get me to open a account this is by far the worst bank I have ever opened a business account with. The bank manager told me after I had the account open and after they put the 10 day hold on the account that they would hold my checks for 10 days almost every time. That was the exact opposite of what the banker told me. I am really disappointed that a big bank stands for these type of things and allows it and are not willing to do anything about it. As soon as my check clears that bank I will be withdrawing all the money out and closing my account. This bank lying to me and telling my check would clear the next day cost me 200 in overdraft fees in my personal checking account. This bank is absolutely horrible never open any accounts with them or trust anything they say I'm very disappointed with how I was treated here the only one that was actually helpful and cant say anything bad about is the bank manager he tried for me and never lied to me.

      The worst bank you can ever deal with I do not suggest this thing to anybody they are bad they don't have a way to get a hold of them after certain hours their system is always down they're always working on it you never talk to a live person you can't get nothing taken care of at 5:00 p.m. it is just by far the hands down worse bank you could ever deal with I do not just this bank to anybody they are a shit bank. I don't see how they can stay in business treating their customers like this everybody I talk to is pulled their account so it shouldn't be too much longer and they should be closed.
