This “company” uses deceptive tactics to overcharge and scam customers. They also pressure customers into paying egregious amounts of money for their services by claiming they’re the only option available.
Please file a police report if they have scammed you.

I locked my keys in my car today and called Halifax Locksmiths. I asked over the phone what they charge, he said it starts at $89. A man shows up, I ask him in person beforehand how much he thinks this will cost. He shrugged his shoulders and say it's different prices, could be up to $240. I asked what is the least expensive he thinks we can get this done for, again, he shrugs and says I don't know, could be up to $240, I asked what is the starting price for something like this, he had no answer. It took him under 5 minutes to unlock my car door using the slim jim, and he charged me $240. If they charge "up to $240", I'd like to know what would have cost less, it was a very quick, simple process. This company is a complete scam. My boyfriend contacted the company and they said they will get back to me, not sure I believe they will get back to me. Avoid them.

Terrible service. Zero attempt to unlock the door. Intentionally broke door handle and that was his solution "unlock" the door. I could have done that myself and not been charged almost $300 for a damaged doorknob that now needs to be replaced. Phoned to speak to a manager, also asked them to provide a detailed receipt- haven't received a phone call back or a receipt. Scammers that have no idea what they are doing and claiming to be "locksmiths".

The guy who came to fix the lock on the front door did not know what he was doing. My husband had to tell him what size screwdriver to use. Then he took a hammer to my door to try to remove a bolt instead of unscrewing it in the process he damaged my door. We called Halifax locksmith and left a complaint but have not heard back from them. They said the service charge was $20.00 but then said to fix it would be $250.00 for a $50 dollar part. We kicked him out and he took part of the door handle with him so we couldn't close the door. We had to call back the company to get him to return the part. I would never use or recommend this company to anyone
