More information on finding tire repair you can trust
Dealing with unexpected tire repairs is never ideal, especially if you’re already on the road. Some repairs can be handled independently if you know how to do them and are in a safe location, such as changing a flat tire.
If you’re not savvy with car repairs or are facing a more complicated tire issue, finding a vehicle repair business you can trust is your best bet.
According to Kelly Blue Book, the average cost of repairing a tire is $54 to $64, but the cost ultimately depends on your vehicle and your location.
If you pay for roadside assistance services, you can contact them for help repairing your tire on the road. You can also look for mobile tire repair services specializing in roadside flat tire repair.
If you can’t safely remove your car from the road, you can call for towing services to transport it to a nearby repair shop.
Choosing a mechanic or repair shop for auto service can be tricky, especially if you have a repair that needs to be fixed as soon as possible. It’s important to always do your research first and compare prices between multiple mechanics. Before deciding on a business, get a written estimate and all the details and guarantees of your repair in writing.
If you already have a go-to car mechanic, see if they can immediately help you with your repairs. If not, ask them for a referral or recommendation for another nearby auto repair shop they trust. You can also ask family and friends for recommendations on tire repair shops.
If you’re in an unknown area and don’t have time to research tire repair shops near you, search for BBB Accredited Businesses on BBB.org. These businesses all adhere to the BBB’s Standards for Trust, so you can feel confident about working with them. You can also check the business’s BBB Business Profile and read customer reviews and complaints to learn more about how the company operates.
Flat or damaged tires can happen anytime due to undesirable road conditions. But you can take steps to maintain your tires for as long as possible. Ask your car mechanic how often you should rotate your tires, how to monitor and fix tire pressure, and how often you should expect to replace your tires. Typically, tires should be replaced around every 10 years, no matter the condition of your tire tread.
If your tires need to be replaced, read BBB’s tips on purchasing tires.

Accreditation and Ratings Overview
Select businesses earn BBB Accreditation by undergoing a thorough evaluation and upholding the BBB Accreditation Standards.
BBB assigns ratings from A+ (highest) to F (lowest). In some cases, BBB will not rate the business (indicated by an NR, or "No Rating") for reasons that include insufficient information about a business or ongoing review/update of the business's file.
